Russia’s threat against Ukraine, the West’s response to date, and what should be done going forward
The US intel community is increasingly convinced that Putin is up to no good with his nearly 100,000 army coalescing near the Ukrainian border.
And in order to (try to) build a unified European stance, Avril D. Haines, the Director of National Intelligence, travelled to NATO HQ in Brussels, to brief our regional allies on this rising threat from the Kremlin.
It is of course possible that the Kremlin is playing the repeat of the scenario from last spring - when the troops of approximately 90,000 were kept at the Ukrainian border, raising tensions and worrying the West about Putin’s next move, only to be later disbanded and sent back to their barracks.
Question: Now, Why would he do that again?
